Make it happen March
Make it happen March
Welcome to the third month of the first quarter of 2019 - say whaaattt?!! Think about it for a moment, it does make sense ... honest.
Remember last week when we discussed motivation and how those New Year goals might be fading ever so slightly? Well, I'm here to help you get those goals back on track / keep on track during what I'm calling "Make it happen March".
WE are in it TOGETHER
Ok, we've had a few weeks together now so you're starting to get a feel for me and my blog. Let's get a bit more interactive. I'd like you to share the blog with family and friends, comment on the blog, make suggestions for the blog. I'm going to kick things off by sharing my goals for 2019 and making myself accountable to YOU as well as myself.
Woody's Goals
- Start a blog. I've briefed dabbled in the world of blogging previously but this year I wanted to be more consistent. People in social media world don't like it when you do something, stop for a while, start again etc etc, myself included. The people that you follow on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blogger or wherever, you want to see them doing something consistently. Barring disasters, such as no wifi whilst on holiday, I've set myself the target of blogging every week. During the week I think of ideas, jot them down so I don't forget them and then decide what I'm going to write about that week. Usually it's some random thought that pops into my head whilst out running and I go from there.
- Run a race every month during 2019. When you've run for as long as I have, you need to find new ways to spice things up so I thought this one would be a good goal for me. So far, I've done Meltham 10K in January, Huddersfield 10K in February and I'm doing Wakefield 10K in March. I've also entered Sheffield half marathon which is in April.
- Learn how to use all the apps on my phone! Yes seriously, this is an actual goal I've set myself. I always feel like I'm never using apps such as notes, reminders, tasks etc to their full potential and it's proved to be the case. For example, in notes I've scanned and saved documents, made shopping lists and shared them with Mr Bob and drawn some artistic sketches (alright, maybe not artistic). I've also learnt about a fabulous app called 'Google Trips' which is where you can save anything relating to your trips such as your travel documents and within the app there's suggestions for things to do for the place you are visiting, food and drink ideas, discounts and need to know information about the place. I love it!!
- Learn how to play the recorder. After finding my old school recorder recently I thought I'd have a go at trying to play it again after many, many, many years. I don't think I was that good the first time round, I'm even worse now! But hey, it's good fun (although not for Mr Bob having to listen to it) and keeps me out of trouble. So far I've learnt how to play 'Amazing Grace' and 'Havana'. Let's just say there's work to be done.
- Take my French to the next level. I've spent a happy few years pretending I can speak French but let's be honest, I'm still way off where I want to be so this year I'm determined to take things to the next level and immerse myself full on into the world of French. The great thing is that after my French tutor moved to Vancouver 😢, we've started doing lessons by Skype and it's working out ok 😀. For a start, it really makes me concentrate as it's much more difficult when you're not actually together. Not only do I want to make myself proud but I want to make my tutor proud too.
So come on, don't be shy, share your goals and let's make it happen!!
