Finding hidden treasures

Hello and welcome to 'Joyful June' or maybe that should 'Jubilee June' as it's the long Bank Holiday weekend as I write this.  I've been on holiday from work this week, enjoying some well earned downtime, so decided to make the most of my 'staycation' by exploring the places on my doorstep.   Me and Mr Bob thought we'd have some fun by visiting places that are not always high on people's wish list.  Don't get me wrong, we love the well known touristy places such as York but let's be honest, it doesn't really have to work hard for visitors.  Places like York can simply chill out, kick back and wait for the tourists to come flocking week in, week out.  Nope, we wanted to visit the more hardcore, gritty northern towns on our doorstep that get overlooked and that most people pull a face at when you mention them. One year on ...

It's been a year since most of us started working from home and living our lives in very different ways to how we had previously.  So in this week's blog I thought I'd take a look back at the events along the way. DISCLAIMER:   I can only relate to myself and those close to me.  Everyone has had a different journey so please bear that in mind when reading this blog!! February 2020:   Covid has become the buzz word of the moment and starting to feature more and more in everyday conversations.  At the end of February, me and Mr Bob signed on the dotted line for our new house, believing we had a couple of months to decorate before moving in very smoothly and with no mishaps - hmm!
